BIO

Kenneth S. Perlman devotes most of his practice to general corporate and business matters, primarily representing individuals, privately-held corporations and closely-held businesses. He has extensive experience in contracts and business law, mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, real estate transactions and commercial lending and leasing.


His clients have included industrial and manufacturing companies, banks and securities firms, hotels, automobile dealerships, alarm and security companies, restaurants, bars and nightclubs and retailers, distributors and sales agents of all types.

Mr. Perlman also is experienced in lending matters, including lending to pre-public, high-tech companies, and has been involved in software development and
licensing agreements. He has represented numerous limited liability companies,
partnerships, limited partnerships and limited liability partnerships, both business and professional.

​

Mr. Perlman is the author of "Business Assets Acquisition Agreement", IICLE, ILLINOIS BUSINESS DOCUMENTS SERIES, 1993 & 1995; and co-author of "Stock Appreciation Rights 33 Business Lawyer 749, January, 1978. 

​

Prior to joining O’Rourke & Moody, Mr. Perlman practiced law with the Chicago law firms of Mayer, Brown & Platt, Lawrence, Kamin, Saunders & Uhlenhop and Bailey Borlack Nadelhoffer LLC.

​

Mr. Perlman graduated, cum laude, from Harvard Law School in 1972. He received his A. B. degree, cum laude, from the University of Illinois in 1968, where he was a James Scholar and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi. Mr. Perlman has been admitted to the Illinois Bar and to practice before the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and is a member of the Chicago Bar Association.
